Remember, remember it's November!

Few weeks since I last posted. Am now back at work after my few weeks off with Black Dog. Couldn't go horseriding last Sunday because it poured down all day till 3pm.
Need to get a few jobs done in the house and do some serious Christmas shopping. The girls have only asked for a couple of things so I'm not sure what to get them.
I haven't picked up my knitting needles for weeks. Naughty me! I was going to make Ysolda's Poppy doll for Louisa for Christmas but haven't started it yet - need to get a move on!
We had a lovely time at Carlisle last week. We stayed at Clinthead Cottage near Great Corby. The weather was remarkably dry! I love to get out into the countryside. We visited Talkin Tarn near Brampton.
I used to go there quite a lot when I was young, as my Grandparents had a property nearby.
There was a nice cafe and giftshop on the edge of the tarn. The girls had some iced fairy cakes, one with red icing and one with green. Guess what colour their tongues became!!!
On our last day, we stopped off at my Grandparents' farm to see what it's like now. It hadn't changed much in the 8 years since it was sold. It brought back lots of happy memories driving up there.

I somehow managed to hurt my back yesterday and was in agony at work all day. It still hurts now :-(

It's nearly Christmas already!

Where has the time gone since I last posted?
The girls are now back at school and the bronzed leaves are falling from the trees. I have moved the bunnies to the top of the garden and they are keeping there hutch much cleaner. Rosie is quite big now and is turning grey like her mammy!
The Black Dog is staying with me at the moment too. Had a trying few months but things are getting better. I have discovered a Yoga class nearby on a Monday night, which I am really enjoying. We have also taken up horseriding. Sally absolutely loves it and I'm enjoying it once I can get up onto the horses! I used to ride when I was little so it's great to be doing it again. Even mucking out and tidying up if fun with the kids running around in the fresh air.
I haven't done much knitting lately. My current -one of my current(!)- projects is a knitted cardigan from Knit 2 Together - Lacy Hug me Tight in Artesano Alpaca Inca Cloud. Must pick up the needles! I also need to knit the gorgeous doll from Ysolda's first book. I promised Louisa I would make it for her. It'll make a good Christmas present.
I've also had a little trip to Glasgow recently to see my best friend. We had a wild time - lots of alcohol involved! We went to see the new Fame film. I really enjoyed my time up there. I even got first class tickets for the train because somehow they were the same price as standard.
Next week it's half term so we are going to stay in a cottage near Carlisle for a few days with my Mam and Dad.

We were on our jollies last week at Ironbridge. Bought some lovely yarn from a fab shop in Much Wenlock - Ippikin.
Still catching up on the washing!

Summer Hols and then there was three!

We had a fab time in Spain. The weather was beautiful - "It's summer every day," said Lou!!
This is on the way down to the beach at Nerja.

Now we have three bunnies. Amy came to be Cocoa's girlfriend. She lived in the conservatory for a few weeks until they'd had a few dates. Now they are living together and are quite happy!
When we got back from our hols, we went to visit my nephew. There was one baby bunny left needing a good home, so she came home with us. She is adorable and loves to snuggle on my shoulder.

New addition to the family

This is Cocoa, our new bunny. He loves to hop about in the garden, digging here and there. He came to live with us on Saturday.

Birthday and things.

I got this lovely bouquet from hubby and some lilies from the girls for my birthday on Wednesday. Hubby and I took the day off work and went shopping to Newcastle. I hadn't been for ages. We had lunch at Cafe Royale and went to visit VV Rouleaux - which, to my horror, has gone! When we got home I went to bed. I've had a cold all week. We had a tea party with the girls we had sponge cake with buttercream and raspberry jam.
I got a nice surprise today in the shape of a parcel from Wisconsin. My swap partners in the Be My Valentine and One Stitch - for whatever reasons they had - flaked out and didn't send me anything. A Rapid Response Angel was despatched and I got my One Stitch parcel.
Thanks chocolatesheep! I love everything!

Sunderland and Blogger Awards

Yesterday we went to the National Glass Centre on the banks of the Wear. I could'nt bring myself to walk over the glass roof. The museum is very interesting. We looked at one of my hairs under a microscope, it was fascinating. We also saw some uni students glass blowing. The kids enjoyed the cafe the most I think!
I pursuaded hubby to take me to Kemps on the way home. We got there just before closing so I did a mad dash to pick what I wanted. I got some bargain Cotton Rope for a Rav swap and some RYC Luxury Cotton DK for moi - in green of course.
